Bio- Miguel Valdes
Born in Havana, Cuba, Miguel "Miguelo" Valdés, hails from a highly musical family and is currently regarded as one of the most prominent Cuban percussionists in New York City. A graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Arte de Cuba (ENIA) / National School of Arts Instructors of Cuba, in percussion; Miguel has performed with numerous notable musicians of various genres, such as Richard Egues, Emiliano Salvador, Raúl Planas, Xiomara Laugart, Afrocuban All Stars (Buena Vista Social Club), Celia Cruz, Israel Cachao López, Chocolate Almenteros, 'Patato' Valdes, Willy Chirino, Albita Rodriguez, Cotton Club Big Band, John Faddis Big Band, McCoy Tyner Latin All Stars, Rachel Ferrer, Terell Stafford, Frank Owens, Ty Stephens, Debbie Sledge, Steve Turre, Chucho Valdés, Abdou Mboup, Matt Dilon and many others.

Miguel has recorded three solo productions in addition to having recorded with more than forty different artists.


Bio- The Feeling Collective
The Feeling Collective Band is a project created andmanaged by Miguel Valdes. It is a collective of 5 musicians based in New York City, dedicated to Jazz music and perhaps more importantly, preserving the unique and iconic style of Cuban music known as "Filin" (derived from "Feeling"). The Feeling Collective takes listeners on a musical journey as they jam in their unique way combining Latin rhythms such as Bolero, La Guaracha, El Son, El Bossa just to name a few.

What is "Cuban Feeling" Music?
Cuban Feeling is a style of music popularized between the late 1940s - early 1960s, and has its roots in bolero and the canción. It's typically characterized by its unique style of crooning and passionate sentiment.
