“Writers for Relief” is a reading event to collect donations for the Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund, as well as item donations to be distributed to people in need. Join us for a night of drinks and great readings by emerging and established writers. Sign up for the open mic or come enjoy the work of fantastic authors!

All cover charge donations will go directly to the recovery fund, which provides goods and medical supplies to people in areas most affected, as well as contributes to the rebuilding of low-income neighborhoods destroyed by the storm. All item donations will be passed on to the donation drive located in Hispanos Unidos Community Garden in the Bronx to be sent to Puerto Rico.

Items most needed include:Diapers
Feminine hygiene products
Baby food
Canned goods
First aid supplies (kits, bandages, bandaids, etc.)
Mosquito repellent
Anti-bacterial ointment

Hurricane Maria has left Puerto Rico on its knees. Residents are lacking in all basic necessities, the island has been reduced to branches and debris. Some of us are yet to hear from friends and family. Let’s act for aid together, let’s help Puerto Rico rebuild.
